Portfolios

A portfolio is a minister's area of responsibility as a member of Cabinet. Within each portfolio there are one or more departments, Commonwealth entities and companies, government appointed boards, and/or other boards and structures. This is a broader view of government than is reported by the Australian Government Organisations Register, which excludes boards considered internal to the management of the entity.

See current Administrative Arrangements Orders for subject matters and legislation dealt with by particular government departments.
